Size 6 Maternity Wear

We have reorganised our Petite and Tall sections to make it easier for you to find what you are looking for. The new section on the site has clothes that are for both petite in height and petite in size. So if you are looking for shorter leg length maternity trousers then this is the section to look in. Similarly if you are a UK Size 6, then as with all pregnant ladies you will need a maternity size 6, and we have placed all clothes in these sizes in the Petite Maternity Wear section too

This is something new for us, so the range is limited at the moment, but we promise to bring you more as our brands introduce more items in smaller sizes.

Tall Maternity Wear

It is not just the smaller pregnant ladies who we have been looking at serving better, we know taller ladies get pregnant too!..........although not all our brands recognise that, we do actively seek out longer length trousers.

Most of our trousers have a leg length of 33 inches, but some of the brands do have a longer leg length, such as Bellybutton, who tend to have a leg length of 34inches.

In recognition of this we have added these trousers to the Tall Maternity Wear section. If you spot a pair of trousers without an inside leg measurement, then please email us, we will reply with the measurement, and update the site accordingly.

Anita Babybelt now available at Everyday Maternity

During your pregnancy your tummy will expand to make room for a growing baby.

Your tummy gains in both weight and circumference and as a general rule, you can expect to gain between 10 and 14 kilos in weight. According to the University Hospital in Frankfurt/Main, many women suffer from various complaints as a result.

Many women rely on Pregnancy Support Bands to help relieve the pain, and we have recently added the Anita Baby Belt to the range.

The Anita BabyBelt is based on the Anita support principle, the following improvements were noted in tests where pregnant women complained of back ache during pregnancy:

  • In 82% back pain eased
  • In 93% the feelings of pressure and tension were relieved in the abdominal/pelvic region
  • In 93% the aching pains in the pelvic area lessened.

Look out for our newsletter coming soon with an article on back pain during pregnancy, and ways to combat it.

It’s all about the waist - a maternity jeans buying guide

Jeans are clearly a staple in any wardrobe and that shouldn't change because you are pregnant, but maternity jeans come in many shapes and styles. So we have developed a brief guide to help pregnant ladies choose the perfect pair. So if you want to read out Guide to Buying Maternity Wear Jeans take a look at our Maternity Wear Tips section. You will also find advice on when to start wearing maternity wear.

Key Maternity Essentials

What are the key items of maternity wear that I need to see me through my pregnancy?

We are constantly asked in our shops what are the essential items a pregnant women needs for her maternity wardrobe, so we thought we would put down a list of 5 key items you should invest in to see you through your pregnancy in style. We understand that the cost of maternity wear can quickly add up, so these are our 'must haves':

Maternity Jeans - if you relied on your jeans before your pregnancy, this will not change. We don't need to tell you that you can dress your jeans up for nights out or dress them down for weekends. Maternity Jeans have various waistbands to accommodate your bump, and don't be fooled into thinking you can just super-size on normal jeans - they will just look saggy around your bottom and legs.

Black Maternity Trousers - again these work well in many situations, used for work, dressed up for a night out or just a change from your jeans. As with the jeans there are a variety of different waistbands.

Maternity Wrap Dress - this dress suits most shapes and bumps, and can be very comfortable. Avoid non-maternity ones otherwise you could have an uneven look with more material at the back and the front sitting 4 inches above your knees. Your wrap dress will also fit your post-birth and can be used if you are breast-feeding, so it is really worth the investment.

Classic Fitted T-Shirt - again opt for a maternity one, that will stretch and grow with you. Choose one in a neck-line that suit your shape and if you want to play it safe go for black and jazz it up with necklaces, brooches or scarves. Your boobs and back will grow, but your shoulders are unlikely to change, so buying larger regular clothes will make you look over-sized across your shoulders.

White Shirt - every season, without fail, the white shirt makes an appearance in the fashion pages. We've had pussy-bow, oriental collar, wrap around.....so with a white maternity shirt in your wardrobe you can always pull a smart outfit together either with your jeans or your black trousers. You can get away with a man's shirt here, and no doubt your partner will find it a sexy look, but for a more together look, opt for a stretch maternity version.

So if you only buy 5 things this pregnancy, we suggest you consider these!

If all of that sounds expensive then take a look at a recent addition to the Everyday Maternity collection, a wonderful capsule wardrobe for the pregnant woman. This 'bump box' style collection from Arabella B covers all your needs in one beautiful liberty print bag.

Your Yummy Mummy Capsule Collection includes:

1 x black wrap dress
1 x white cross over top
1 x soft black trousers
1 x white seamless vest
1 x black seamless vest
1 x liberty print cotton bag

Maternity Jeans for the Longer Leg

Here at Everyday Maternity we understand that finding maternity jeans is not always easy, and finding ones with a longer leg length is even more difficult. We have a great range of jeans available for the pregnant lady, and we recently added some new jeans from Noppies Maternity, which have a longer leg length of 35 inches.

Those taller ladies among you should also take a look at the Bellybutton Maternity jeans, which have a slightly longer leg length too - 34 inches.

Our jeans range has also increased recently with the addition of petite maternity jeans catering for a size 6 and 8, and the inclusion of some larger sizes, to expand our plus size maternity wear section.

We have added two more styles of jeans from Bellybutton, both the under bump style that is currently popular.

Plus Size Section

At Everyday Maternity most of our items come in sizes UK8 to UK16 across the range, but where possible we do cater for sizes outside of this.

We have recently added a Plus Size Maternity Wear section that has all our clothes that are a UK18 size and above. We hope it makes it easier for our plus size pregnant ladies to shop on the site. The size 20 maternity jeans have been the most popular item to date.

We are sure you will love them, and have two styles to start with. An under the bump, straight leg jean, and a side panel under the bump pair.

Gifts for Pregnant Women and New Mums

Here at Everyday Maternity we are always on the look out for exciting brands for expectant and new mums. In general we look for pregnancy clothing and nursing wear, but we recently came across some sumptuous gift packs from Vital Touch. Vital Touch have a collection of organic maternity products for your body and soul. The NATALIA collection includes healing, soothing and supportive massage and aromatherapy products for pre-natal massage and post-natal well-being.

Bamboo Nursing Wear Arrives at Everyday Maternity

Bamboo is the hot new fabric, and we have introduced it to our nursing wear section. Bamboo fabric is softer than cotton with a texture similar to silk. It is a naturally antibacterial and hypoallergenic fabric and is also quick to absorb moisture, therefore keeping you dry and odour free.

There are also environmental benefits of bamboo. It is a renewable resource as the plant is self replenishing with new shoots growing continuously. Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants. The plants require very little water and can survive dry conditions as well as flooding. The crops are also environmentally sound as they do not require pesticides or fertilisers.

Fashion wise, bamboo cotton drapes wonderfully, and is so very soft - ideal for breastfeeding mums who may be suffering from soreness. It is breathable, hypoallergenic and anti-bacterial.

Everyday Maternity Online Maternity Wear Launches

Everyday Maternity is a UK shopping site for pregnant women, looking for fashionable clothes to wear throughout their pregnancy.

Company Founder, Amanda Gregson, advised that the idea behind the online maternitywear store is to bring together all the fantastic maternity clothes that are available across Europe under one site. The advantage of Everyday Maternity is that we stock a wide range of brands, which means there should be something to suit everyone's taste.

Said Amanda, 'There has been a revolution in maternity wear over the last few years with the likes of Isabella Oliver, Crave Maternity and Formes Maternity bringing out some great ranges. We feel that Everyday Maternity is different to these great brands in that we offer a variety of independent brands. I'd liken us to a maternitywear department store!'.

We also cater for those who require plus size maternity wear, petite maternity wear or tall maternity wear.
